Wow!! I didn't realize it has been two months since I've posted. Seems like we are busy from morning until night. A lot has happened in two months. Hadley has been sick off and on the entire time. A few weeks ago she had a five week stretch of viruses. They continued to compound and really took a toll. She was pretty close to being put in the hospital on I.V.'s for some gutt rest. She was to the point she was sleeping only 4-5 hours a night. Maybe hour worth of naps, grandma's coming over to watch her when we worked, and not taking much of a bottle. Then I had a talk with Hadley :), I reached out to our church prayer chain, and two days later she turned around. Five days after that we FINALLY got her 4 mos. shots and the worst thing that happened was a fever. We had braced ourselves for the worst possible reaction, but we finally got a break.
Of course, a few days later she was congested and has been ever since. Last weekend Lenny took her in while I was at work because it sounded like it moved in to her chest, but the doctor also discovered she had a double ear infection. The amazing thing through this last two week stretch is that she is on 3/4 strength, in a good mood, and sleeping all night!! Thank God for small (big in our house) favors!!
I can't believe how big Hadley is getting. At the doctor's last week she was 17lbs. 14 oz. Not bad for a baby who doesn't take a full calorie bottle. She does love those sweet potatoes. She eats squash at daycare, but not at home unless we mix it in to sweet potatoes. She eats so many that her nose is orange. We've been trying for weeks to move on to green beans, but we can't while her immune system is compromised. We have the green light for green beans this Wednesday-fingers crossed. We did attempt carrotts 2 months ago and she turned her nose up at those. Then she got sick, so we couldn't try those again.
Hadley still doesn't like to be on her tummy much. She has figured out how to slide around on her head with her back arched when the helmet is on. When the helmet is off for a break she just rolls all over. You really have to keep an eye on her. For not crawling, she's a quick little girl!! She has recently attempted to be up on her knees and hands in a crawl position, so I'm hopeful. She did get up on all fours and rock back and forth a couple times this past Sunday. She also doesn't like sitting up on the floor, but we are working on that. I think with her having to be on her back so much when she had the line that it has had an affect on her desire to sit up or do tummy time. Although, she does sleep on her tummy most nights now. The first time I saw her do that I almost had a heart attack, but she does sleep well that way.
