The Line is Gone

Well, Hadley had her central line removed Friday. I didn't want to post anything until it was out-didn't want to jinx us. She was back to 3/4 strength after her virus by Tuesday of last week. When her line was taken out the surgeon said there could be a little bleeding, but no one had ever really had any problems. He showed us where to put pressure on her neck if the line site in her chest was bleeding. Of course, don't tell Hadley that! Later Friday night it was leaking out of the dressing, so we had to call the original surgeon and he gave us additional instructions. We got the dressing all changes and luckily the bleeding stopped so we didn't need to take her in.

Yesterday was Hadley's first day at daycare. She lasted all of an hour!! Sunday I suspected she might be getting another virus (since babies get 1-2 a month) but I also thought maybe she was just fussy from the weekend. I noticed in the AM before I took her to daycare she had a few white rashy looking bumps on her forehead again, but thought (hoped) maybe they were left over from the virus last week. No such luck. When I picked her up she definately had a little rash on the forehead and then one on her cheek was inflamed. I took her back to half strength and she was fine again. If I dont' hear from Jayne I'll just keep her at half strength another day. We're getting good at this......
